Every child deserves a safe home, good food, quality education, and a life full of hope. But for thousands of homeless and street children in Dehradun and nearby areas, this is still a dream. These children live on the streets, sleep without food, and have no access to schools or medical care. They grow up in pain, fear, and uncertainty. But together, we can bring a change. Together, we can give them a better life.
1. Our Mission for Change
Srshti (Sardar Ranjodh Singh Health and Training Initiative) is a social organization that works to uplift poor and homeless children. Our aim is to make sure that every child gets the love, care, and support they need. We run several programs that focus on providing education, healthcare, food, and shelter to children living in slums and streets.
We are deeply committed to creating a society where no child is left behind. With the help of kind-hearted people like you, we have touched the lives of over 5000 children in Dehradun.
2. Education – The First Step to a Better Future
At Srshti, we believe that education is the strongest tool to end poverty. But many children are forced to work as rag pickers, beggars, or street performers just to survive. They have never stepped inside a classroom or held a pencil.
Through our education program, we sponsor school fees, books, uniforms, and other learning materials for underprivileged children. We also provide extra classes and mentorship to help them do well in school. Our goal is to bring these children into schools and help them dream big. Your support can help a child stay in school and build a better life.
We focus especially on:
- Children from slums and low-income families
- Children of daily wage workers and migrants
- Girls from poor backgrounds who often don't get a chance to study
3. Slum Feeding Program
Hunger is a daily fight for homeless children. They sleep with empty stomachs and often eat leftovers from garbage bins. Malnutrition is common, especially among small children and pregnant women. Our Slum Feeding Program provides hot, fresh, and healthy meals to children, families, and daily wage earners living in slums. We have served over 50,000 nutritious meals through 300+ feeding drives.
We reach:
- Urban slums in and around Dehradun
- Streets and homeless shelters
- Construction sites and labor camps
- Crisis-hit areas during disasters or pandemics
4. Healthcare
Many homeless children suffer from untreated injuries, infections, and diseases. They have no access to doctors or hospitals. At Srshti, we provide free medical checkups, medicines, and health camps. We also educate children and families about hygiene and health practices.
Our volunteers regularly visit slum areas to provide:
- First aid and basic treatment
- Vaccination support
- Medicine distribution
- Health awareness programs
5. Clothes Distribution Drive
In summer, children on the streets suffer with no clothes or dirty clothes. Recently, we held a Clothes Distribution Drive in a slum area of Dehradun. The happiness on the children's faces when they received T-shirts and slippers, and that was priceless.
You too can donate your gently used clothes and help us keep more children warm and safe. Clean clothes not only protect them from illness but also bring back their lost dignity.
6. Shelter Homes
We are working on building more shelter homes for homeless children where they can live safely, go to school, eat healthy meals, and grow up with love and care. These homes are more than just buildings, they are spaces filled with hope, kindness, and second chances.
